The noise meter uses your device microphone to show the classroom volume as a live meter, with a limit you set. When the class gets too loud, the meter clearly crosses the line - and young students love watching it and policing themselves.

It is entirely browser-based: no audio is recorded or uploaded, just volume levels measured live. You can set a stricter or more relaxed limit depending on the activity, so it works for silent reading, group work, or a lively game.

Used as a visual cue rather than a punishment, it shifts responsibility for the noise level to the class itself, which is exactly where teachers want it.

How to use it

1. Click to start the meter and allow microphone access.
2. Set the noise limit for your current activity.
3. Project the meter so students can see it.
4. Lower the limit as the class calms down.
