How to Play
- Generate space cards: Create bingo cards with space vocabulary on each square.
- Print and distribute: Give each student a card with dark blue or black markers for a space feel.
- Call space words: Read a word aloud or give a fun fact clue. "This is the largest planet in our solar system — Jupiter!"
- Students find and mark: Students locate the word on their card and cover it.
- Bingo! First student to complete a line calls "Mission Complete!" and reads their winning words.
Science Connection Tips
Planet Facts Round
After each word is called, share a quick planet fact. "Saturn — its rings are made of ice and rock and are thousands of miles wide." Students learn while they play.
Solar System Unit Tie-In
Use space bingo as an introduction or review activity for a solar system unit. The vocabulary on the cards reinforces what students are learning in class.
Order of Planets
Challenge students to name the planets in order from the sun after calling each one. This reinforces the sequence: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune.
