Tips for Teachers
Add Animal Sounds
Make the game multisensory by calling out animal sounds instead of names. Students must identify the animal from its sound before marking their card.
Sort by Habitat
Create separate sets for farm, ocean, and wild animals. Use bingo as an introduction to a unit on animal habitats and classification.
Pair with Facts
After each animal is called, share one fun fact. "Cow — cows have almost 360-degree vision!" This builds background knowledge alongside vocabulary.
Use Picture Cards
Show real photographs of each animal rather than just saying the name. This helps English learners and builds real-world recognition skills.
